I got Jason Blake 2007; Adrian Aucoin 2004. I don't know the years, but I'm adding Hamrlik, Yashin, Johnson, Going further back I'd add in Palffy, but thats all I got!

Blake is correct in 2007. Aucoin is 2004. Hammer and Yash made it, but what year? Kenny J I believe was injured and was forced to miss his game.

2007 is Blake, 2006 is Nobody Olympics, 2005 is lockout, 2004 is Aucion who tied souray for hardest shot, 2003 im not sure 2002 was Yashin and Parrish. 2001 was Czerkawski. Before that i was too young to remember.

Welcome Nicky,

Correct, Yashin and Parrish in 2002. And good call on Czerkawski. The one everyone is missing? Hammrlik in 2003. Can anyone get 1996-1998? Palffy was one of them, but the other two are difficult.

Palffy was 1998. I have no clue who the others were.

miko makela :)

I looked up the last two. I don't think anyone will guess 1997.

That was a joke. And I believe he was a former first round pick. One pick behind Jaromir Jagr!

He was a replacement for Palffy though. My older brother played against him in youth hockey. I used to see him and Guerin all the time at the rink growing up, when they played juniors. They were also instructors at a hockey school I went to.

Schneider '96
LaChance '97

Yep, I think Palffy was supposed to be the guy from 97, but after he was hurt they gave it to Lachance out of desperation. 1996 was definitely our boy Mathieu Schneider...I wish he stayed here longer than he did, but what can you do...

Also, Mr. Candyman, I believe Scott Scissons was the pick right after Jaromir Jagr. Oh, the pain of it all....

Nick, I stand corrected. However LaChance was taken one pick behind Scott Niedermeyer, AND ahead of Forseberg, Kovalev, Naslund, Palffy (by us), nylander and zhitnik

They also took Jaime McLennen a few spots ahead of Chris Osgood.

While watching last nights fiasco, I was paying particular attention to Bill Guerrin.
I never realized what a defensive liability this guy was. He is a statue in the defensive zone.

I watched as he never skated more than three feet from the top of the circle in his own zone. Mostly, he just stood there waiting for the puck to come to him. If the play was away from him, he never mooved a muscle to cover anyone in the zone.

The Islander forwards were horrible about bakchecking and coving the points last night. There is no excuse (other than laziness) for not covering a man in your own zone.

The forwards did an excellnt job of keeping Ottatw pinned in their own zone for a lot of the game. However, defensive responsibilities are even more important.

Anyone else notice this?.....Bill

I hear Ted Nolan on XM radio today...he remarked how his players are too worried about goal scoring nowadays since everyone has been on the Isles' case about their lack of goals thus far this season...

He said we are going to get back to a defense first team and try to win games 2-1, 3-2, etc...

I think there is some truth to what Nolan is saying...

Dubie is starting tonight, DiPietro is still getting over the flu. Fedotenko is probably out, and Sutton is a game-time decision. I guess a few other players also have the flu but are good enough to play. No word on if they are going to call anyone up, but it doesn't look like it.

DP has not looked good in his last few starts. Hopefully, it is just the flu bug and not something worse.

That "tweeking" thing has me more concerned because of the Isles history of lying about injuries, especially when it comes to DP.

I doubt if anyone will notice if "Tank" doesn't play. Sutton is a different story. Having Johnson, Berard and MAB in the lineup at the same time is cause for great concern........Bill

stat of the night...This is the Islanders' worst home stretch since a seven-game skid from Feb. 27 to March 29, 2001.

What is there to say? The team with the worst record in hockey and the Islander sleepwalk through another pitiful loss. Not only that, but watching the game was painful. Boring, boring, boring.

Gotta love those "Ted Nolan" type players. Lots of cycling, lots of one man stickhandling and loads of perimeter shots. How many point shots did I see blocked? At least a dozen. How many times did one Islander attempt to carry the puck through three or four Kings?
How much knock hockey was played?

Dubie played an excellent game. Martinek got beat by a D-man in front of the net. How sad is that?

This team needs a big shakeup before it falls off the map. It's not going to get any easier from here on in. Hey Garth, wake up!
It's time for some new blood to be infused into your dull, lifeless team.........Bill
